The literature discusses extensively the impact of 5G and its derived technologies on Industry 4.0. 5G emerges as a key technology promising to underpin future business models. Aingura has focused on the practical application of this promising technology and has already achieved its first results through the implementation of a 5G-based Mobile Private Network (MPN) in the facilities of a company within its group of companies (Inzu Group):

  • Improvement of production process efficiency by connecting different distant processes, applying widespread and massive software or configuration updates.
  • Reduction of maintenance costs for process systems, enabling quality systems to inspect a higher volume of produced items, and facilitating the management of different segments of the infrastructure.
  • Generation of new services that allow configuring, monitoring, and adapting existing or ad-hoc deployed private network management policies.

The use of a 5G-SA (Stand Alone) private network has enabled the interconnection of machines, objects, and devices with high levels of performance and efficiency, primarily impacting process automation, operations control, and maintenance areas. It allows continuous data collection and analysis throughout the entire production chain, including high-value-added products produced.
